Shooting Blanks
A new form of foolproof birth control is on the horizon. And it's not for the ladies or the faint of heart. A "prevention serum" called Vasalgel is designed to inject into a man's penis, coating the walls of the vas deferens and killing all the sperm as they pass through. The procedure takes just 15 minutes, but the benefits can last up to 10 years. Vasalgel is currently undergoing clinical trials in India, and researchers predict that it will be available by 2015. One question remains, however: Will a needle in the nether regions mean peace of mind for millions of men—or their breaking point?Thinkstock
