Dating Under the Influence
Once again, we can thank our hormones for getting us into relationship trouble. According to new research by Kristina Durante of The University of Texas at San Antonio, women who are ovulating may delude themselves into believing that the suave and unattainable cad would make a better partner than Mr. Nice and Available. Durante refers to the phenomenon as "ovulation goggles." Before you fall too hard for that wayward playboy, it might be wise to let your wily hormones run their course.United Artists/Photofest

Here's a Tip
We all know that a slick of red lipstick can up one's stock in the mate-attracting department, but it can also boost your bottom line. A French study showed that waitresses sporting a crimson pucker earned the greatest tips—but only from male customers. (The theory goes that red lips indicate sexual arousal and good health, thus the positive reinforcement from the messieurs.) Interestingly enough, female diners paid no mind (or extra Euros) to waitresses wearing lip color.Christian Dior Spring 2012; Imaxtree
