Despite fantasies of being ravaged by a Don Draper or Christian Grey type, it's more likely a Michael Cera kinda guy who will be able to satisfy you in the bedroom. A new
Yale University study published in the
Sex Roles journal (yes, that exists) found that men who believe they need to be dominant during sex are less comfortable asking women about their sexual needs and discussing their own.
The study surveyed 357 women and 126 men ages 18 to 29, all heterosexual
and sexually active, on their sexual confidence and assertiveness.
Overall, results showed that men were more fixated on the traditional
masculine role in the bedroom: "Female subjects in general were less
likely than the men to believe that men should be more dominant in
sexual situations." That's right, guys. You can relax and let the woman
take control every once in a while.
