Commitment Issues
Wondering why some men (and women) have such a hard time committing? Mom and Dad might be to blame—yet again. (Sorry, folks.)
According to a new study from the Journal of Nervous and Mental Disease, those who avoid committed romantic relationships are likely a product of unresponsive or over-intrusive parenting. These individuals were categorized as "avoidant." Translation: They had major anxiety when it came to intimacy and closeness.
The study is based on the attachment theory, the notion that when infants are stressed, they turn to their caregivers (usually a parent) for support. However, if the parent is either checked out or emotionally smothering, the infant learns to avoid them.
So does this mean dating a commitment-phobe is a lost cause? Not necessarily. It just means you have your work cut out for you. - this just in

This folding leather beach chair which resembles an attaché when closed is part of a 16-piece collection called Object Nomades. Other over-the-top designs include a leather hammock for (sticker-shock alert) $32,000. The limited-edition items are being shown at Art Basel Miami from now until Dec 9.Courtesy of WWD
