So I wanted to make sure the makeup was approachable and feminine -- to allow the dress its full attention. Kate tucked Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colour in Mademoiselle and a Chanel Natural Finish Pressed Powder compact into Anne's purse before she headed out.

My favorite part about Natalie's makeup look was her pretty pink lips. Makeup artist Sarai Fiszel used Dior Rouge Dior Lipcolor in Star Fuschia #766 (Natalie is the face of the Miss Dior Cherie fragrance!) The genius Orlando Pita did her hair in a modern interpretation of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I think Holly Golightly would approve.

I love that Angelina finally wore some color on the carpet. That emerald green allowed her to keep her makeup and hair soft and simple. And did you happen to catch her reapplying her gloss during the telecast?

I loved Tina's wavy updo. It felt very old-Hollywood, but not at all stuffy. Her stylist, Remington's Richard Marin, used a curl-enhancing mousse and a blow-dryer with a diffuser to dry the hair. He then used a small barrel iron to curl random sections, had Tina shake it out and pulled it into a loose, low ponytail. He then twisted that into a bun at the neckline.

Sofia's makeup artist, Kayleen McAdams (using Lancôme), wanted a modern retro feel, so instead of a classic smoky eye, she chose purple shades to create the look. Just look at how amazing it looks, which goes to show we should all embrace jewel tones, not fear them.

My inspiration for Sandra was rock 'n' roll with just a touch of disco! says Chanel makeup artist Angela Levin. As for her makeup, we heard this from her makeup artist Fiona Stiles (using Chanel): I focused on beautiful, luminous skin and a little kitten flick of black eyeliner to give it a fun, slightly dramatic look, while still being age-appropriate.

Julia had an elegant, long black gown, so we wanted the beauty look to be sophisticated and sexy, but also to keep it fresh since the red carpet is during the daytime, her makeup artist Jake Bailey revealed. And what is that gorgeous pop of color on her lips? CoverGirl Lip Perfection in Euphoria.

Dianna worked with Pantene celebrity stylist Danilo for the first time for the Globes. (He's famous for doing Gwen Stefani's hair all these years.) “When you style hair for the red carpet, you have to take into account that it must look good from every angle,” said Danilo. “I wanted her hair to have the ability to be undone, have movement and be shiny, but didn’t want her to worry about it all night, which is why a half-up style was the perfect choice.”
