It's a program where they're giving a dollar from every Wave Sonic or pink grapefruit Oil-Free Acne Wash sale to GlobalGiving. I also got them to dish on all things beauty.

    Vanessa On Her First Makeup Experiences: It started at work. Because I was wearing so much makeup when I was doing work, I thought I could wear makeup outside of work — like red lipstick is fine for an eleven year old. No, it was bad. I just grew up doing my makeup every single day.

    Vanessa On Advice From Mom: My mom actually used to sell Mary Kay [makeup] so I would just go into her closet and put on all of her makeup and she would do my makeup as well. One thing that I remember is her tip about foundation — to make sure you compare it to your jaw line because if it doesn’t match your neck, you’re in a world of trouble.

    Vanessa on her beauty inspirations: I love love love Brigitte Bardot. She was actually my inspiration for a bunch of my hair styles for Sucker Punch because it’s set in the '60s and I had my bangs. It was just about the bombshell and poof that she did so well. She was the first sexy woman of her time. She mastered it. Also, Natalie Wood was one of my favorites, especially growing up, and still now.

    Vanessa on the Spice Girls: I love Victoria Beckham. I was a big fan of the Spice Girls. I think it gave me the balls to do whatever I want with fashion and with makeup because they were just off the wall.

    Vanessa on her favorite products: I use sunscreen everyday. My mom would always lather it on me and because she wore sunscreen herself, she’s almost fifty and she does not have a single wrinkle. I’m like, I want to be just like you mom. That’s my main thing, especially for summer. And always lip gloss, I cannot deal with chapped lips. So I have lots of little tubes of Neutrogena lip gloss in my purse.

    Hayden on growing up in Hollywood: I grew up in the spotlight and everyone has an opinion and you’re constantly trying to fit in, too ... I was constantly trying to look at other people’s style and emulate it. It never quite worked. It never felt good. It always felt pushed. I didn’t feel comfortable in it.

    Hayden on the haircut: I went through a phase where I wanted to dye my hair, so I went from Little Mermaid red to dark to auburn and I was trying to go dark brown. And then I wanted to go back to blonde and my hair was falling off. So I was like, I want to go through a short phase. I really want to do short, feel like I did it right. I really found my own style and there’s nothing better than when you find your own style.

    Hayden on why girls should have fun with beauty: Experiment, have fun. If I didn’t do what I do, and if it didn’t have so much to do with my appearance, god knows what I would be running around in. I probably would’ve dyed my hair hot pink. I think the coolest thing about people that I meet, especially young females, is when they just have their own style and outsiders have not had an impact on it.

    Hayden on her skin care routine: I always do everything in the shower. I brush my teeth in the shower. I use the Wave Sonic in the shower which is awesome when you have to wake up at six in the morning and you’re tired and instead of exfoliating, I use that little thing and it’s really fun. It smells good ... like you’ve accomplished becoming very clean when you step out of the shower. Your cast members appreciate it.

    Hayden on picking her looks: Sometimes you do your makeup first, the outfit next. Choosing one thing and revolving around that makes it much easier. So sometimes it is definitely based around the makeup.
