Designer: Betsy Burnham, Los AngelesIn her crystal ball: I don't ordinarily use blue in my work but I do love the pale robin's egg blue of the Caribbean, says Burnham, who's looking to use the color in an unexpected way this year: Maybe paint a bookcase, a dresser, kitchen cabinets, or even shutters or a front door. I love the idea of brass hardware used with this color; it feels very old-school and European.Feeling Inspired? It will sit on an ivory Karl Springer side table doubling as a nightstand, next to a persimmon lacquered headboard, against a backdrop of textural jute-colored drapes. As for the lamp's material? It might be brass or ceramic.
