Hump Day Happy Hour
A Brew For International Beer DayBy Julie Fishman
Toast a frosty mug in unison with beer fans across the globe tomorrow in celebration of International Beer Day, a full-day tribute to the drink responsible for love handles and loving life. The very unsurly staff at The Surly Goat in Los Angeles created a just-for-Glo beer cocktail that'll have you swearing the old adage goes “a cocktail a day keeps the doctor away.”
There's no wrong way to celebrate beer day — find a participating bar, visit a brewery or have some friends over for this week's very berry beer beverage, "The Surly Razzcal." While the term “beer cocktail” may sound like an oxymoron, we think it's the best combo since Bradley Cooper's face and Bradley Cooper's body. The sweet and satisfying brew is a great way to start, end or continue your Beer Day (or Bradley Cooper) celebration.
“The Surly Razzcal”
1 oz. Ketel One Citron (or other lemon vodka)
6 oz. Avery White Rascal Witbier (Belgian white ale)
2 oz. St. Louis Framboise (Belgian sweet raspberry beer)
Splash of fresh lime juice
Splash of simple syrup
Combine ingredients into an ice-filled cocktail shaker. Shake and pour into 12 oz. goblet with ice. Garnish with a raspberry and lime wedge.
Located in Los Angeles, The Surly Goat, is run by self-titled “beer geeks” who can tell you anything and everything about the tons of on-tap varieties.
