A Thirst-Quencher for the New York Marathon

Whether you're actually racing this coming Sunday or cheering from the sidelines, we suggest you celebrate the 26.2 miles of pain with Jason Christopher's “Go-jito,” a made-for-Glo cocktail that'll revive fans and running freaks-of-nature alike.

Originally several laps around Central Park, this innovator of big-city marathons visits all five boroughs, crosses five bridges and features 130 bands spread throughout the course, giving runners plenty to look at while trying not to pass out.

Fear not: With its healthy portion of Red Bull, the “Go-jito” will assure you're wide-awake and living up to New York's tagline as the city that never sleeps. And if you're suffering from serious chaff-age after the race, take a real big swig to numb the full-body burning sensation.

“Go-jito”

Ingredients:

4 lime wedges

Pinch of mint

Simple syrup to taste

2.75 oz of Bacardi Limon

Red Bull

Directions:

Muddle lime, mint and simple syrup in a tall glass. Fill with ice and add Bacardi Limon. Fill the remainder of the glass with Red Bull. Shake … and GO!
