Hump Day Happy Hour
Celebrate the Latvian “Martini” Festival
By Julie FishmanAlso known as “Martin's Festival,” this Latvian shindig marks the beginning of winter and end of the harvest season. Since in the Western world an occasion by this name would probably celebrate a cocktail, we're treating the day as such by hooking you up with a “Mistletoe Fizz” martini recipe that kicks butt and kicks off the holiday season.
The drink of choice for Hemingway, FDR and 007, the martini has been an American standard for the past hundred years. And if this week's just-for-Glo recipe gets out to the masses, we're certain it'll be a few hundred more before anyone grows tired of this tasty tipple.
Created by bartender Blake Landis, “Mistletoe Fizz” looks just as amazing as it tastes, so if you want to celebrate the Latvian Martini Festival in style, we suggest you get mixing!
