Celebrate The End Of Summer With A Coconut Cocktail
By Julie FishmanCoconut water has been the health drink of athletes and celebs for some time now, and has even been credited as a hangover helper. Upping the health value of your happy hour, the potassium-packed drink is being added to cocktails, as well.
Coconut water cocktails are light, refreshing and faintly nutty. We suggest you spend the last few days of summer with one of this week's coconut creations in hand.
“Not Your Average Rum and Coke”
Ingredients:
2 oz. golden rum (Angostura 1919 or Fernandes 19 recommended)
2 to 4 oz. fresh coconut water (or Zico Pure Premium Coconut Water)
0.25 lime
Directions:
Fill a Collins glass with ice and add the rum. Fill to the top with chilled coconut water. Add a squeeze of fresh lime and stir.
“Coconut Honey Bee”
Ingredients:
2 oz. white rum
0.5 oz. honey
0.5 oz. fresh coconut water (or Zico Pure Premium Coconut Water)
0.5 oz. lemon juice
Strawberry, sliced in half, for garnish
Directions:
Add first four ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Shake, pour and garnish with a strawberry slice.
