- 12 April Fools Day PranksWait for a colleague to leave his desk, open the Bing or Google homepage and look for the language settings (to the right of the search bar for Google, on the “preferences” page for Bing). Change the display language to Ukrainian and watch as your friend’s search results come back in Cyrillic. Or select Google’s “Bork, bork, bork” setting and he’ll get semi-comprehensible gibberish that mimics the Swedish Chef on The Muppets.http://static.glo.com/photos/Original/35350_Original.jpg
- 12 April Fools Day PranksHave a bro or sis who uses Microsoft Word a lot? Open the program and click on “Autocorrect” under the “Tools” tab. Change the settings so that funny words like “bric-a-brack” or “collywobbles” appear when he or she types a common word, like “the” or “and.” You can also make it so that every time your sibling types his or her name, “Captain Cool Beans” or an equally embarrassing moniker comes up.http://static.glo.com/photos/Original/35353_Original.jpg

Send her ridiculous texts from your phone — she’ll wonder how Mr. T became an entry and why he needs her to join the A-Team. If your friend knows your cell by heart, this may be a one-trick idea. If she doesn’t , you’re in for hours of fun.http://static2.glo.com/photos/Original/35354_Original.jpg
- 12 April Fools Day PranksDownload the “Krazy Kamera” app on your iPhone. Open it up and ask one of your parents to take a picture of you using your phone. The app will make the image turn and twist every time your ’rent tries to line up a shot, keeping them busy for a few hysterical minutes.http://static1.glo.com/photos/Original/35355_Original.jpg
- 12 April Fools Day PranksScoop about an inch off the top of your man’s stick deodorant. Replace the layer with cream cheese, molding it to look like the original product. - 12 April Fools Day PranksUse duct tape to attach a baby monitor speaker to the underside of your boss’s chair. Keep the receiver at your desk and make barely audible sounds at random intervals. If the big cheese calls a coworker in to confirm the sounds, keep dead silent until that person leaves.http://static2.glo.com/photos/Original/93810_Original.jpg
- 12 April Fools Day PranksWake up before your roommate and tape bubble wrap to the underside of the toilet seat. Gently put the seat down, and then wait for her to rise and shine. - 12 April Fools Day PranksLay out your little one’s clothes, replacing his or her pants with a pair that’s a few sizes too small. When getting dressed in the morning, he or she will think they’ve grown several inches over night. - 12 April Fools Day PranksObtain five or more life-size cardboard cutouts of celebrities from a novelty or party store. Place them in various spots on your neighbor’s lawn, facing the house. When they wake up and look out the window or go to grab the paper, they’ll find Betty Boop, Bruce Lee and Barack Obama peering in on them.http://static.glo.com/photos/Original/35356_Original.jpg
- 12 April Fools Day PranksThis is one of my favorite pranks: Order Chinese take out and sneak off with one of the fortune cookies. Use tweezers to remove the paper fortune and on a piece of similarly sized white paper write “Help, I’m trapped in a fortune cookie factory.” Place it back in the cookie. Covertly put the cookie on your dining companion’s plate and watch him or her freak out when they break it open and read the fortune. April Fools’ Day is your yearly get-out-of-jail-free card to act impish without making people angry. Since your friends, family and coworkers will be on high-alert April 1, you’ll need to become a professional prankster to catch them off-guard. Lucky for you, we’ve put together a slideshow of original stunts that’ll stun ally and enemy alike. Read on, and then get your prank on!
Prank Your Cousins
2 of 13Cousins can be the worst sometimes. Get retribution for all those years of wedgies by taking a box of candy you know they like, removing the candy and replacing it with Play-Doh you've molded into candy shapes.
Prank Your Gramps
3 of 13Grandpa a bit behind the times when it comes to technology? This trick will make him think his desktop has gone haywire: Simply connect a wireless mouse with his computer, then go to a nearby location and wiggle the mouse around.
Prank Your Coworker
4 of 13Wait for a colleague to leave his desk, open the Bing or Google homepage and look for the language settings (to the right of the search bar for Google, on the “preferences” page for Bing). Change the display language to Ukrainian and watch as your friend’s search results come back in Cyrillic. Or select Google’s “Bork, bork, bork” setting and he’ll get semi-comprehensible gibberish that mimics the Swedish Chef on The Muppets.
Prank Your Sibling
5 of 13Have a bro or sis who uses Microsoft Word a lot? Open the program and click on “Autocorrect” under the “Tools” tab. Change the settings so that funny words like “bric-a-brack” or “collywobbles” appear when he or she types a common word, like “the” or “and.” You can also make it so that every time your sibling types his or her name, “Captain Cool Beans” or an equally embarrassing moniker comes up.
Prank Your BFF
6 of 13Go into the contacts in your pal’s cell phone and change the name associated with your number to a TV character, celebrity or person from her past. Send her ridiculous texts from your phone — she’ll wonder how Mr. T became an entry and why he needs her to join the A-Team. If your friend knows your cell by heart, this may be a one-trick idea. If she doesn’t , you’re in for hours of fun.
Prank Your Parent
7 of 13Download the “Krazy Kamera” app on your iPhone. Open it up and ask one of your parents to take a picture of you using your phone. The app will make the image turn and twist every time your ’rent tries to line up a shot, keeping them busy for a few hysterical minutes.
Prank Your Man
8 of 13Scoop about an inch off the top of your man’s stick deodorant. Replace the layer with cream cheese, molding it to look like the original product. Watch as he swabs his underarms with a milk-based food product that’s sure to create a sour smell that’ll draw plenty of stares (and possibly insects).
Prank Your Boss
9 of 13Use duct tape to attach a baby monitor speaker to the underside of your boss’s chair. Keep the receiver at your desk and make barely audible sounds at random intervals. Don’t speak too loud or too long—the goal is to make locating the source of the noise impossible. If the big cheese calls a coworker in to confirm the sounds, keep dead silent until that person leaves.
Prank Your Roomie
10 of 13Wake up before your roommate and tape bubble wrap to the underside of the toilet seat. Gently put the seat down, and then wait for her to rise and shine. While she may enter the bathroom drowsy, the loud pops that sound when she sits on the can will ensure that she exits wide awake… and possibly with her pants still around her ankles!
Prank Your Kids
11 of 13Lay out your little one’s clothes, replacing his or her pants with a pair that’s a few sizes too small. When getting dressed in the morning, he or she will think they’ve grown several inches over night. To really hammer this one home, plan a family movie day on the 31st and watch the Tom Hanks classic Big.
Prank Your Neighbor
12 of 13Obtain five or more life-size cardboard cutouts of celebrities from a novelty or party store. Place them in various spots on your neighbor’s lawn, facing the house. When they wake up and look out the window or go to grab the paper, they’ll find Betty Boop, Bruce Lee and Barack Obama peering in on them.
Prank Anyone
13 of 13This is one of my favorite pranks: Order Chinese take out and sneak off with one of the fortune cookies.
