Teach them to be kind to others and aware that there is always a way to help those in need. Maybe you should explain how Hurricane Sandy left many families homeless and ask them if they'd like to go shopping and pick out some toys or clothing that they believe someone their age would enjoy. Have them wrap it and label it. Bring them to a church or shelter that is taking donations for the victims or anyone else in need so they can feel the experience of giving. Trust me, they will enjoy the process and remember the lesson.
