Her character, Krystle, a secretary who married Denver oil tycoon Blake Carrington, faces a resentful stepdaughter and condescending treatment from her new husband’s staff. In typical soap opera fashion, Krystle is left in a coma in season nine of the series. Later, we discover that the coma was not only medically induced, but it was a plot to brainwash her to kill her husband. (In the end, she couldn’t do it.)

Joan Collins

Her portrayal of Alexis Colby, Blake Carrington’s ex-wife, put this actress in the spotlight. Famously stirring up trouble wherever she goes, Alexis is the ultimate drama queen, and her yearly catfights with Krystle made Dynasty iconic.

Pamela Sue Martin

As Blake’s daughter Fallon, she oh-so-scandalously has an affair with daddy’s chauffer, lies to the court about her father’s mental state (when he was on trial for killing his son’s boyfriend), miscarries, aborts, marries, almost remarries and seemingly dies in a car crash (only to reappear with amnesia, thinking she is someone else), just to name a few plot points over the course of the series.

After Pamela Sue Martin left the show, Fallon was played by this actress, who is best known for her role as Holly Sutton on General Hospital.

Pamela Bellwood

Claudia Blaisdel Carrington, played by Bellwood, was committed to a sanitarium, only to restart her life as a diner waitress, unbeknownst to her husband, Matthew, who had been on assignment in the Middle East. She is later the prime suspect in kidnapping Fallon’s baby after her own daughter is killed, but it turns out that the child she was seen cradling was really a doll. Back to the sanitarium she goes!

Diahann Carroll

Has there ever been a cooler character name than Dominique Deveraux? We think not. This actress waltzed into the fourth season of Dynasty, leaving the audience with this cliffhanger in the finale: "Won't it just knock their socks off when they find out I'm a Carrington?" (We later learn that she’s Blake’s half-sister.)

Catherine Oxenberg

As Alexis and Blake’s mystery daughter Amanda, this actress only stayed on through the 1985-1986 season, but she was able to stir up quite a lot of trouble during her time on the show. After breaking up Prince Michael of Moldavia’s marriage, she is kidnapped by rebels. Later, her wedding to the prince ends in terrorist gunfire.

Karen Cellini

This actress took over the role of Amanda after Catherine Oxenberg’s departure from the show. However, her character was written out partway through the season … never to be mentioned again.

As Sable, the matriarch of the Colby family, this actress played alongside Charleton Heston (who portrayed patriarch Jason) in The Colbys. She later becomes a rival of Alexis on Dynasty.

Tracy Scoggins

As Jason and Sable’s daughter Monica, this actress later joined the Dynasty cast for the show’s final season after The Colbys was canceled. We find out she has a son with politician Cash Cassidy, whom he raises with another woman — his wife — to preserve his career.

Claire Yarlett

Bliss, the youngest daughter of Sable and Jason, was always at odds with her father’s political beliefs. As far as plotlines go, hers was fairly tame: Bliss just ends up becoming involved with Russian dancer Koyla Rostov.

Kim Greene

This The Colbys actress portrayed Channing Carter Colby, who marries quickly after losing Jeff to Fallon.
