Prom Dress Code: Pass or Fail?

Low-cut backs make the grade, as long as they don't fall "below the navel" or are waist high.

The skin-baring sides are banned, as is the high slit. Slits cannot exceed mid-thigh, where fingertips hit the leg (i.e. shorter arms equal higher slits).

Being fashion-forward like Kruger doesn't get you extra credit in high school. Exposed undergarments are definitely a dress code deal-breaker.

The dress may be short, but if Roberts puts her shoulders back and stands erect, then we think she might get a pass on the length. And the strapless factor? OK, as long as there's no "excessive cleavage."

The fashion police may adore her, but school officials would issue Saldana a major demerit for her mini. (Although, she does get brownie points for her modest back.)

This one's a tough call. The length and neckline are modest enough, but if a glimpse of skin can be seen (i.e. "if flesh touches flesh") when arms are at their sides, then the dress is a no-go.

Even though she's technically covered, the sheer fabric doesn't cut it. "Noticeably tight or transparent clothing is considered inappropriate," so sayeth school dress codes.

The dress may be demure, but unless her belly button is oddly low, the bare back is just too daring.
