With her blazers over floral sack dresses, oxfords and messy ringlets, Julia Louis-Dreyfus’s character in "Seinfeld" may not have been a style icon then, but she’s apparently inspiring a new generation of fashionistas, who imitate her frumpy style with patterned long dresses and flat menswear-inspired shoes.

Lady Gaga

First it was the hair “art," then it was the outrageous clothes, and lately it seems like this pop superstar is more undressed than otherwise. When Lady Gaga started showing up pantsless to events, it seemed to rub off on a whole set of young starlets, including Miley Cyrus, Taylor Momsen and various "the Hills" girls. We beg of you all, please put some pants on!

Diane Keaton

With her 1977 roll as Annie Hall, Diane Keaton sparked a major menswear trend, appearing in the movie (and in real life) in button-downs, vests, ties and slacks all fit for a dapper dude. Though we have to admit, she did look great, and we totally love this style, which is back in a big way for fall.

Iris Apfel

In her oversized round glasses, colorful clothes and over-the-top accessories, 88-year-old philanthropist and style doyenne Iris Apfel has been providing inspiration to designers, editors and stylists for years, and is photographed every time she steps out in one of her eccentric getups. Would we mimic her look from head to toe? Not a chance, but she sure can work it!

Punky Brewster

Mismatched clothes, striped socks and one roled up pant leg typified the trademark look for Soleil Moon Frye when she starred as Punky Brewster in the hit '80s sitcom. While all little girls dress this way at some point or another, we usually grow out of it, but lately we’ve been seeing a lot of hipsters in vests, neon colors and converse.

Anna Piaggi

This Italian style writer and editor is a true tastemaker, but the look she’s known for inexplicably includes heavy, colorful makeup and bright, rainbow-toned clothing. Almost always in a hat and fur, Piaggi is a front-row staple every season whose opinion definitely matters.

Angela Chase

In character as Angela Chase on "My So-Called Life," Claire Danes wore a lot of '90s grunge staples: plaid flannel shirts, beat-up boots and striped sweaters. We all remember how huge this trend became, and it’s still inspiring fashion designers from New York to Milan.

High fashion and eccentricity often intersect, and when they do, it’s usually on the body of British beer heiress Daphne Guinness. This striking socialite always leaves the house dressed to the nines in straight-off-the-runway looks, avant-garde ensembles and couture creations. We’ll be honest here: we’d kill for her closet and are not surprised that designers like Karl Lagerfeld and the late Alexander McQueen consider her both friend and muse.
